Homemade Ghee

4 Sticks Butter – Organic Grass-fed

1.In a pot put in the 4 Sticks of Organic Butter. Cook on medium-low, then once melted turn heat to low. Cook for 10 minutes uncovered (Make sure to put on a timer because Ghee can burn very quickly if you do not pay attention), if the ghee is bubbling/splashing then the heat is too high – reduce it, so it’s a slow and low cook. After 10 minutes, start to skim the white frothy substance off the top of the ghee and discard. Once you start to see clear bubbles on the surface the Ghee is complete. Turn off the heat and then strain the ghee into a glass mason jar. Discard any substance in the strainer and wait until the ghee is cool before placing an airtight lid on the jar. This ghee can be stored on the counter or in the fridge. Make sure to use a clean, dry spoon when scooping out the ghee for use to prevent any bacteria from destroying the ghee. Ghee can be stored for up to 6 months.
